Notes

'Little Red Head' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Little Red Head') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It stays small at 18 inches tall and has good stem strength. Each stem carries one fire-engine red ball-shaped bloom late in the season. Roy G. Klehm bred it, and the flowers have no fragrance.

Pairs well with Tiger lily, Black Hero tulip, Sedge, and Carnation.
