Notes

'Lye End' sage (Salvia sylvestris 'Lye End') is a perennial for borders, pollinator gardens, and rock gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to average, sandy soil. Lavender-blue flowers open in late spring and often return in summer and autumn, drawing butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. It stands 36 to 60 inches tall.

Pairs well with Blue fescue, Kansas peony, and Heather.
