Notes

'Mahogany' peony (Paeonia 'Mahogany') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average moisture. The large, fragrant, cup-shaped blooms are deep mahogany red, open early, and attract bees and butterflies. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by. Lyman D. Glasscock bred it.

Pairs well with Annabelle hydrangea, Dancing Queen hosta, and Blonde Ambition blue grama.
