Notes

'Maxecat' rhododendron (Rhododendron 'Maxecat') is an evergreen shrub for borders, specimen planting, hedges, and shade gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and average to moist, sandy or loamy soil. Pink flowers open in early to late spring and attract hummingbirds, bees, and birds. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. It grows 48 to 72 inches tall.

Pairs well with Japanese forest grass, First Frost hosta, and Christmas fern.
