Notes

'Modesty' peony (Paeonia 'Modesty') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy soil. Light pink flowers open in early to late spring and attract butterflies. Kelway bred it. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything.

Pairs well with Mock orange, Lily, Greig's tulip, and Endless Summer hydrangea.
