Notes

'Mother of Pearl' ornamental onion (Allium 'Mother of Pearl') is a bulb for borders, pollinator gardens, and containers. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and sandy or loamy soil. The fragrant violet flowers attract butterflies and bees. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal. Stems reach about 80 to 100 cm tall, so plant it where it can rise above shorter neighbors.

Pairs well with Ice plant, Prairie dropseed, and Monsieur Jules Elie peony.
