Notes
'Mousmee' bigleaf hydrangea (Hydrangea macrophylla 'Mousmee') is a shrub for cut flowers, hedges, shade gardens, and foundation planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes part sun to full shade and average to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It bears magenta blooms from early to late summer and tolerates salt. Give it room to reach 3 to 6 feet tall and wide. Deer rarely make it their first choice.
Pairs well with Abiqua Drinking Gourd hosta, Lady fern, Aureola Japanese forest grass, and Autumn fern.
