Notes

'Nachtigall' bigleaf hydrangea (Hydrangea macrophylla 'Nachtigall') is a shrub for hedges, privacy screens, shade gardens, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes part sun to full shade and average to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Deer tend to browse other plants first. Blooms open from early to late summer, and the erect shrub grows at a rapid rate.

Pairs well with Blue Mouse Ears hosta, Aureola Japanese forest grass, Autumn fern, and Lenten rose.
