Notes

'Nana' black spruce (Picea mariana 'Nana') is a shrub for borders, containers, and accents. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It is a slow grower that stays low, at 12 to 24 inches tall and 24 to 36 inches wide. The evergreen needles are fragrant, and birds visit the plant.

Pairs well with Little Hottie panicle hydrangea, Thalia daffodil, and Blonde Ambition blue grama.
