Notes

'Nana' sage (Salvia officinalis 'Nana') is a perennial for borders, pollinator gardens, cottage gardens, and rock gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to average, sandy or loamy soil. It forms a fragrant mound up to 18 inches tall with lavender-blue flowers from early to late summer. Butterflies and bees visit the blooms. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything.

Pairs well with Blue fescue, Queen of Night tulip, and Karl Rosenfield peony.
