Notes

'Nelly' chive (Allium schoenoprasum 'Nelly') is an herb for borders, containers, and food gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist soil of most types. It forms a clumping, evergreen mound with fragrant, fine- to medium-leaf foliage. Green blooms open in spring and again in summer, and bees and butterflies visit them. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal.

Pairs well with Lemon balm, Sage, Marmalade coral bells, and PowWow Wild Berry coneflower.
