Notes

'Purly' chive (Allium schoenoprasum 'Purly') is an herb for borders, containers, and food gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist soil of most types. It forms a clump of medium-size leaves that stay green through winter, and bees and butterflies visit the blooms in spring and summer. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. Cut the leaves often to keep fresh growth coming.

Pairs well with Ruby Star coneflower, Sage, and Paradigm hosta.
