Notes
'NewGen Independence' buxus (Buxus 'NewGen Independence') is a shrub for hedges, foundation plantings, formal gardens, and containers. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It stays evergreen, so it adds green to the garden in winter. Bees visit the spring blooms. Rabbits tend to pass it by.
Pairs well with Japanese forest grass, Balloon flower, and Christmas fern.
