Notes

'Nishiki-jima' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Nishiki-jima') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Its name means Brocade Island. Lemoine introduced it to European gardens in 1903, and the blooms make fine cut flowers.

Pairs well with Blue Mouse Ears hosta, May Night salvia, and Weigela.
