Notes

'North Hills' moss phlox (Phlox subulata 'North Hills') is a perennial for rock gardens, ground cover, borders, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 2, or down to -50°F (-46°C). This plant likes full sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. It blooms in early to late spring and again in early to late autumn, and butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees visit the flowers. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. The evergreen mat spreads 12 to 24 inches.

Pairs well with Perennial candytuft, Gold dust, Bressingham Ruby bergenia, and Red fescue.
