Notes

'Orange Blaze' red-hot poker (Kniphofia 'Orange Blaze') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and accents. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy or loamy soil. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. Orange flower spikes appear in early to late summer and again in early to late autumn. Butterflies, hummingbirds, bees, and birds visit the blooms.

Pairs well with Autumn fern, Kentucky bluegrass, and Snowbrush.
