Notes

Pale leather flower (Clematis versicolor) is a vine for trellises, fences, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average moisture. The nodding blooms open light pinkish-purple and fade to light yellow-green. They appear in late spring and again from early to late summer. The vine can climb 6 to 16 feet, so give it a sturdy support.

Pairs well with Burnet, Spiderwort, and Ocean spray.
