Notes
'Papaveracea Plena' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Papaveracea Plena') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Its woody stems stay above ground through winter, so you can leave them in place and prune only to shape the plant.
Pairs well with Lenten rose, Mock orange, Greig's tulip, and Prairie dropseed.
