Party Balloons ornamental onion

Notes

'Party Balloons' ornamental onion (Allium 'Party Balloons') is a bulb for the food garden. It is typically grown as an annual. Few crops handle cold as well, and with a little winter protection it grows on through light freezes. This plant likes full or part sun and dry soil. It blooms in early to late spring with purple spheres up to eight inches across. Mature bulbs can produce 2 to 3 globes instead of the usual single sphere.

Pairs well with Echinacea purpurea echinacea, Catwalk Queen nepeta, and African Blue basil.
