Notes

'Paul Hermann' common hyacinth (Hyacinthus orientalis 'Paul Hermann') is a bulb for borders, containers, and rock gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It bears fragrant violet flowers from early to late spring. Bees visit the blooms, and the clumping plants tolerate drought. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits.

Pairs well with Greig's tulip, Blue fescue, and Lily of the valley.
