'Perfect Gift' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Perfect Gift') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The scarlet red, semi-double blooms open in early to mid spring. They sit high above light green foliage on strong stems, one bud per stem. John W. and Dot M. McFarlane bred it.
Pairs well with Clematis, Ostrich fern, Black Parrot tulip, and Blue sage.
