Notes

'Polar Gold' American arborvitae (Thuja occidentalis 'Polar Gold') is a tree for hedges, privacy screens, specimen planting, and winter interest. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist soil of most types. This slow-growing evergreen has a dense, fragrant habit. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. Birds also visit it.

Pairs well with Panicle hydrangea, Stonecrop, and Prairie dropseed.
