Notes

'Port Royale' peony (Paeonia 'Port Royale') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. The dark red blooms are fragrant and attract butterflies and bees. William Henry Krekler bred it in 1996. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by.

Pairs well with Lady's mantle, Globemaster allium, and Purple cranesbill.
