Notes

'Primrose Beauty' red-hot poker (Kniphofia 'Primrose Beauty') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and accents. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy or loamy soil. Yellow flower spikes appear in early to late summer and again in early to late autumn. Hummingbirds, bees, and birds visit the blooms. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits.

Pairs well with Hummingbird's mint, Autumn fern, and Kentucky bluegrass.
