Notes

'Prince of Darkness' peony (Paeonia 'Prince of Darkness') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average moisture. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. The fragrant blooms are dark maroon red with darker shading. Flowers can burn in strong sun, so part sun may protect the color.

Pairs well with White Feather hosta, Moonshine yarrow, Cheerfulness daffodil, and Blonde Ambition blue grama.
