Notes

'Purple Beauty' moss phlox (Phlox subulata 'Purple Beauty') is a perennial for rock gardens, ground cover, borders, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 2, or down to -50°F (-46°C). This plant likes full sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. Flowers open in early to late spring and attract butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees. Deer tend to pass it by. It forms an evergreen, creeping mat that spreads 12 to 24 inches.

Pairs well with Perennial candytuft, Gold dust, Bressingham Ruby bergenia, and Red fescue.
