Notes

'Purple Pride' common hyacinth (Hyacinthus orientalis 'Purple Pride') is a bulb for borders, containers, and rock gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. The violet flowers are fragrant and open from early to late spring. Bees visit the blooms.

Pairs well with Blue fescue, Bowl of Beauty peony, and Abiqua Drinking Gourd hosta.
