Notes
'Raspberry Lemonade' Atlantic nine-bark (Physocarpus opulifolius 'Raspberry Lemonade') is a shrub for borders, hedges, and rain gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. The foliage emerges chartreuse, and white flowers open in clusters in summer. Coral-red fruits follow, and the bark peels in attractive strips. Bees visit it, and it hosts the larvae of various moth species.
Pairs well with Common snowberry, Brown-eyed Susan, Blonde Ambition blue grama, and Sensitive fern.
