Notes

'Raspberry Swirl' carnation (Dianthus 'Raspberry Swirl') is a perennial for borders, containers, cottage gardens, and rock gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to average soil of most types. It blooms in spring and again in summer, and the fragrant flowers attract butterflies and bees. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. Cut spent blooms to encourage more flowers.

Pairs well with Coneflower, Tussock bellflower, Lavender, and Blue fescue.
