Notes

'Red Rider' iris (Iris 'Red Rider') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and accents. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun and average to moist, sandy or loamy soil. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. The fragrant flowers attract butterflies. They open in early to late spring and early to late summer.

Pairs well with Hardy geranium, White lace flower, and Stonecrop.
