Notes
'Rhythmic Blue' bigleaf hydrangea (Hydrangea macrophylla 'Rhythmic Blue') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, specimens, and shade gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes part sun to full shade and average to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Blue flowers open from early to late summer and again in early autumn, and acidic soil with a pH of 4.5 to 5.5 keeps the blooms blue. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal.
Pairs well with Autumn fern, Liberty hosta, Lenten rose, and Sedge.
