Notes

'Rouge Royale' sunflower (Helianthus annuus 'Rouge Royale') is an annual for borders, cut flowers, pollinator gardens, and cottage gardens. It is not cold-hardy and will not survive freezing temperatures. This plant likes full sun and dry to moist soil of most types. Deep burgundy petals surround an ebony center, and butterflies, bees, and birds visit the blooms. It sits low on the menu for deer. Rapid growth gives you flowers fast.

Pairs well with Candy Stripe cosmos, Peach Melba nasturtium, and Red fescue.
