Notes
'Round and Purple' ornamental onion (Allium 'Round and Purple') is a bulb for borders, containers, rock gardens, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. Its fragrant blooms attract butterflies and bees, and the plant tolerates drought. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. Flowers open in spring and summer.
Pairs well with Columbine, Prairie dropseed, and Polish Spirit clematis.
