Notes
'Ruby' clematis (Clematis alpina 'Ruby') is a vine for ground cover. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun. Deep pink tepals with white staminodes open in early to late spring, and silky seed heads follow the delicate flowers. You can grow it as a climber, a rambler, or a ground cover.
Pairs well with Campfire rose, Cheerfulness daffodil, Ostrich fern, and Panicle hydrangea.
