Notes

'Ruby Riot' moss phlox (Phlox subulata 'Ruby Riot') is a perennial for rock gardens, borders, and ground cover. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. It forms a creeping, fragrant mat that blooms in early to late spring, and butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees visit the flowers. Deer rarely make it their first choice. It also tolerates drought and salt.

Pairs well with Perennial candytuft, Gold dust, Bressingham Ruby bergenia, and Little bluestem.
