Notes

'Ruffled Velvet' iris (Iris 'Ruffled Velvet') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and containers. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to wet soil. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. It bears purple blooms in early to late spring and again in early to late summer.

Pairs well with Spotted joe-pye weed, Cinnamon fern, and Black-eyed Susan.
