Notes

'Russian Mammoth' sunflower (Helianthus annuus 'Russian Mammoth') is an annual for borders, pollinator gardens, and cottage gardens. It cannot take cold, and a freeze will end its season. This plant likes full sun and average to moist soil of most types. Deer rarely make it their first choice. It grows fast and can reach about 12 feet tall, so give it a spot where it will not shade smaller plants. Butterflies, bees, and birds visit the flowers.

Pairs well with First Knight fountain grass, Cornflower, and Empress of India nasturtium.
