Notes

'Salute' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Salute') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It is a Japanese type with large pink guard petals. The light yellow staminodes shade to a deeper yellow at the base. It blooms at midseason, and Ernest Flint Kelsey bred it.

Pairs well with Orange lily, Ostrich fern, Picture tulip, and Miss Kim lilac.
