Notes

'Scarlet Leader' amaryllis (Hippeastrum 'Scarlet Leader') is a bulb for borders, containers, specimen planting, and accents. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Its scarlet red flowers have a darker red spot in the throat. Each umbel holds 4 blooms that are 8-10 inches across. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal.

Pairs well with Gladiolus, Society garlic, and Purple top.
