Notes

'Short' sunflower (Helianthus annuus 'Short') is an annual for borders, containers, cottage gardens, and pollinator gardens. It is not cold-hardy and will not survive freezing temperatures. This plant likes full sun and dry to moist soil of most types. Butterflies, bees, and birds visit the flowers. Deer tend to pass it by. It grows fast, stands upright, and handles dry spells well.

Pairs well with Jewel nasturtium, Lemon Mint monarda, Cerise Queen yarrow, and Red fescue.
