Notes

'Showmaster' common hyacinth (Hyacinthus orientalis 'Showmaster') is a bulb for borders, containers, and rock gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It grows 9 inches tall and bears fragrant violet flowers from early to late spring. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. Bees visit the blooms.

Pairs well with Blue fescue, Duchesse de Nemours peony, and Heather.
