Notes

Silverleaf sunflower (Helianthus argophyllus) is an annual for low maintenance gardens. It is tender to cold, and the first hard frost will kill it. This plant likes full sun and dry to moist soil of most types. Its silky silver leaves and bright yellow flowers make it a rewarding garden plant that reseeds easily. Finches and other birds relish the seeds. Bottom leaves drop as it grows, so plant lower plants in front to hide the bare stems.

Pairs well with Signet marigold, Queeny Lime Red zinnia, and Rock soapwort.
