'Smash Hit' hosta (Hosta 'Smash Hit') is a perennial with gold-centered leaves. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes part sun to full shade. Leaves emerge blue-green with irregular gold centers, then turn greener with creamy white centers. Bright spots bring out more drama in the foliage. Lavender flowers appear in early to late summer and attract hummingbirds and bees.
Pairs well with Black Barlow columbine, Bush honeysuckle, and Autumn Fire sedum.
