Notes
'Smhplqf' panicle hydrangea (Hydrangea paniculata 'Smhplqf') is a shrub for borders, cottage gardens, specimen plantings, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Deer tend to browse other plants first. The white blooms mature to reddish-purple and open in early to late summer. Bees visit the flowers.
Pairs well with Miss Kim lilac, Big Daddy hosta, and Western sword fern.
