Notes

'Smiles' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Smiles') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The large, full, double pink flowers open in late spring on tall, erect stems that do not need support. Each bloom has light mauve outer petals and a collar of yellow petaloids. Abraham Nieuwenhuizen bred it.

Pairs well with White trillium, Ostrich fern, Picture tulip, and Christmas fern.
