Notes
'Smnhpph' panicle hydrangea (Hydrangea paniculata 'Smnhpph') is a shrub for borders, specimen planting, hedges, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. Creamy white to pale green blooms mature to dark pink and attract bees. It grows fast into an arching shape that reaches 48 to 72 inches tall and wide.
Pairs well with Miss Kim lilac, Big Daddy hosta, and Western sword fern.
