Notes

Soapweed yucca (Yucca glauca) is a shrub for specimen planting, rock gardens, accents, and winter interest. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and dry to average, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Pale-green, dagger-like leaves form an evergreen clump, and greenish-white, bell-shaped flowers hang from a tall stalk. It sits low on the menu for deer. Woody, cream-colored seed capsules follow the blooms.

Pairs well with Blue grama, Standing Ovation little bluestem, and Nodding onion.
