Notes
Spanish dagger (Yucca gloriosa) is a shrub for borders, containers, specimen planting, and rock gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to wet, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. Its stout trunks often grow in clusters and carry stiff, bayonetlike leaves. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by. Bees and birds visit the white flowers.
Pairs well with Karl Foerster feather reed grass, Wild bergamot, and Red spider lily.
Native range
North America and Bermuda.
