Notes
'Solar Flare' red-hot poker (Kniphofia 'Solar Flare') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and accents. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy or loamy soil. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. Its tall spikes draw butterflies, hummingbirds, bees, and birds. It handles drought and salt, and the leaves stay evergreen.
