Notes

'Sonja' sunflower (Helianthus annuus 'Sonja') is an annual for borders, cut flowers, pollinator gardens, and cottage gardens. It is not cold-hardy and will not survive freezing temperatures. This plant likes full sun and dry to moist soil of most types. It grows fast and stays about 17 to 28 inches tall. Butterflies, bees, and birds visit the blooms. Deer tend to browse other plants first.

Pairs well with Antiquity cosmos, Cerise Queen yarrow, and Red fescue.
